Friends and Best Friends
My grandma used to say to me, ”You can count the number
of your true friends on the fingers of one hand.” For a
long time I thought this was true. I’ve discovered that
my grandma was only half right. Maybe we do only make
a few “best” friends in our lifetime, but those aren’t
the only people that we can call friends. There are many
different types. Let me tell you about a few of them.

There’s the category that ma grandma was talking about
-the true friend or best friend. I only have two.
One is Paul, my husband. The other is Carmen, George’s wife.
What’s a true or best friend?
For me, it’s the person that goes everywhere and nowhere.
It’s also the person who doesn’t try to spare your
feelings but tells you the good and the not-so-good things
about yourself.
It would be hard to live without one or two best friends around.
But it’s also good to have the other kinds,too.
